The Heavy Diesel Mechanic role is involved in scheduled & unscheduled maintenance and repairs of a fleet of CAT haulage trucks, utility vehicles, load shifting equipment.
Monday to Saturday rotating day/night shift, 97.75 hours per fortnight.
Some of the tasks are:Repair and maintain the hydraulic components of large mining equipmentDiagnose, overhaul, repair, tune, maintain and test diesel powered heavy equipment including trucks, dozers, and other earth moving equipmentCommunicate any safety or maintenance issues to the supervisorSkills & RequirementsNeed to have at least 3 years of relevant work experienceTrade qualification in Heavy plant or related field AUS/NZ Recognised Trade Certificate or equivalent overseas qualificationExperience in OEM mobile plant – CAT Haul trucks 740, 777Water cart CAT 773CAT D6 D8 D9 DozersCAT 16M GraderCAT 966, 980 Loaders Komatsu, CAT, Hitachi, Volvo excavators (PC1800, 1900, 1250, 336, EC750)Outstanding troubleshooting / diagnostic skillsAbility to read schematicsPrevious experience conducting component change-outs / breakdowns and fault findingValid and relevant Driver's LicencesSourcing technical information from available reference manuals, OEM, and computer- based systemsAbility to work autonomouslyBe a team player100% commitment to safety, quality, and best practice at all times.
