Heavy Diesel Machinery Mechanic

To keep up with the demands of our growing business in the Nelson region, C3 are looking for a motivated and qualified Diesel Mechanic skilled in heavy plant and equipment.
This is a salaried role to support our Nelson operational team and direct/engage external contractors when required.
You will bring a high level of technical skill and enjoy varied service, repair, hydraulics, and mechanical work on a range of heavy machinery.
This position operates in a port environment with a purpose-built utility vehicle provided.
Essential requirements for the position are:Mechanic Trade certificate (Polytech or MITO)Proven experience repairing and maintaining heavy machineryBeing a self-starter with initiativeKeen eye for detail with superior workmanshipFlexibility and reliabilityCommitment to Health & SafetyStrong time management skills and ability to work unsupervised is essentialAvailable to be on call during vessel loadingsAdditional qualifications that would be advantageous:Previous experience working on forklifts, wheel loaders, excavators, and heavy log handling equipmentIf you enjoy responsibility and working as part of a team, then we would like to hear from you.
