Auckland Council are at the forefront of supporting and enabling development to support our planned growth in the Auckland region. Council plays a key role in ensuring that this growth is managed in a sustainable and cohesive manner to address our key challenges of high population growth, shared prosperity, and environmental degradation.
We have a great opportunity for a Healthy Waters and Flood Resilience Specialist to join the Growth and Development Team and help us tackle these key challenges. In this role, you will provide stormwater advice and analysis in the processing of development applications relating to vested assets, Plan Changes, building, land use, subdivision, and Engineering Plan Approvals.
You will take an active lead role in ensuring that fit-for-purpose network assets are designed and vested to Council and be a key Healthy Waters and Flood Resilience representative on a wide and exciting range of development proposals that need specific stormwater advice.
This role will be highly collaborative, as you work with other teams in Healthy Waters and relevant stakeholders in the three waters industry including the wider team in Resilience and Infrastructure, Community Facilities, Auckland Transport, and Watercare. You can also expect to play a part in helping develop and inform Council technical documents that relate to stormwater and development outcomes.
Please Note: This role is internally referred to as Healthy Waters Specialist. You will have a qualification in civil or environmental engineering and membership of a relevant professional body (or working towards one). You will bring with you at least 3 years' experience in the three waters infrastructure sector or equivalent with at least two years in the land development area. A natural collaborator, you'll be confident working with multi-disciplinary teams to support or deliver engineering and environmental solutions with multiple social outcomes.
This role is deemed safety sensitive and in line with Auckland Council policy, you will be required to complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.Qualification Checks will be conducted along with other relevant pre-employment checks required for employment with Auckland Council.Nga ahuatanga kei a matou: What we offer
