The security team provides 24-hour, 7 days per week service coverage for Counties Manukau District, particularly at the Middlemore Hospital site, Manukau Super Clinic site, and various other sites as needed. This involves frequent patrols, customer service, staff and visitor escorts, attending all security-related incidents, investigation reporting, and follow-up of various incidents, reporting to the Shift Senior.
We have a casual position available with rostered shifts Monday to Sunday, covering all 24 hours. You must be available to work on an on-call basis and be ready to work at short notice.
Due to the nature of the work, applicants must demonstrate that they are team players who can combine a security mindset with exceptional customer service and people skills. If you believe you possess the necessary skills or transferable experience, we would like to hear from you.
Essential:
One year of security experience, preferably in a health setting.
Ability to obtain Level 2 and Level 3 National Certificate or appropriate qualifications.
Ability to operate modern security technology, including cameras, radios, pagers, electronic locking apparatus, and basic computer systems.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent customer service and public relations skills.
A team player who can build rapport with staff.
Confident computer user (basic knowledge of MS Outlook and MS Word).
Ability to write clear and concise incident reports and maintain registers and records.
A good degree of physical fitness is required due to the nature of the role.
Clean and current full NZ driver's license.
Must be available to work on an on-call basis and be rostered for shifts Monday to Sunday, covering all 24 hours.
