A role with loads of variety - This is not your average security role!
Mo te turanga - About the role
You will be rostered to Dunedin and Wakari Hospitals, providing support to our patients, staff and visitors so that everyone feels safe. We are looking for the right person to join our healthcare security team. In this role, no two shifts will be the same - you'll need to think on your feet, remain calm under pressure and show compassion and empathy in times of distress. Previous security experience is preferred but not essential for the right candidate, and training leading to nationally recognised security qualifications will be provided.
Our primary role is 'Healthcare' - Looking after our patients.
Secondary to that is 'Security' - Keeping everyone safe.
As part of our busy security team, you will be involved in a number of different duties such as:
Routine patrols
Diffusing tense situations before they escalate
Ensuring the overall security of our people and buildings
You will be a peacemaker, a confident communicator and display kindness and helpfulness while remaining firm and alert. You will have experience working with people from all walks of life, be non-judgemental and have a good level of physical fitness.
You will receive excellent training, nationally recognised security qualifications, and the opportunity to work with a friendly, supportive and committed team. If you are looking for a role that is busy, varied and makes a genuine difference to people, we would love to hear from you!
Our Healthcare Security Officers work on a rostered basis seven days a week, so you will need to have the flexibility to cover a variety of shifts.
Subsidised gym membership and discounted health insurance
Access to staff fitness facilities and banking offers
Access to a range of retail discounts and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
