We are looking for a full time Healthcare Clinical Assistantto join our expanding dedicated Clinical team.
Reporting to the Practice Lead of Health and Ageing, you will be joining a small dedicated team of Registered Nurses who work in a multidisciplinary team with Behaviour Advisors, Speech and Language Therapists and an Occupational Therapist. We work passionately to ensure that people with intellectual disabilities have the best possible health outcomes.
Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse this role focuses on;
Supporting our teams to provide quality healthcare to people who have an intellectual disabilities.Delivering health advice about managing common health issues, assisting in the development and implementation of care plans.Ensuring staff are aware of people's healthcare needs and health related policies and proceduresProviding support during medical appointments and when the person is in hospitalMentoring and coaching staff members to improve their knowledge and practiceAssisting in the development and updating of healthcare policies and proceduresProviding feedback and recommendations for quality improvementWorking closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a collaborative approach to careYou will ideally have a qualification as an Enrolled nurse or equivalent, having and maintaining a current New Zealand practicing certificate. You must have a full NZ drivers licence and eligibility to work in NZ to be considered for this role
The ideal applicant will have:
Experience in supporting people with an intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder and/or foetal alcohol spectrum disorder.Recent clinical experienceAbility to competently utilise information technologyExperience in project management.Knowledge in age-related health and medical conditions (such as dementia)Experience in working in the field of autismExperience in teaching and coaching staffIf you are passionate about health and would like to make a positive difference to people's lives - Click apply now!
