We take pride in what we do, work hard, and have fun along the way.We are seeking two Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Advisors, or Senior HTA Advisors, to join our high-performing team.Our HTA Advisors assist in the management and appraisal of funding applications, including taking applications through the clinical advice process at Pharmac.HTA Advisors lead the drafting of clinical advice papers and records for the Pharmacology and Therapeutics Advisory Committee (PTAC) and our Specialist Advisory Committees (SAC). This requires the HTA Advisor to work collaboratively with other Pharmac staff - including Clinical Leads, Therapeutic Group Managers, and Health Economists - to deliver timely products.Clinical advice papers and records are structured around Pharmac's assessment and decision-making framework, the Factors for Consideration (FFC). The FFCs are broad, and HTA advisors are expected to develop a thorough understanding of them.HTA Advisors are expected to ensure the status of applications are kept up-to-date and engage with stakeholders (including applicants) to keep them informed of any information that Pharmac may need to advance an application.We are Aotearoa New Zealand's largest health technology assessment team. We work closely with Te Pataka Whaioranga | Pharmac's clinical advisors and our commercial negotiators. There are also opportunities to lead strategic projects.This is a real opportunity to be at the core of our operations—helping ensure evidence-based medicine informs Pharmac's objective of securing the best health outcomes that are reasonably achievable within the funding provided. You work collaboratively with others to deliver fit-for-purpose products within tight time frames. You can navigate ambiguity to bring clarity to clinical advice reports. You are willing to give and receive feedback to improve your team and your own performance. You are comfortable with having your work reviewed by multiple staff members.You are comfortable liaising with senior clinicians, pharmaceutical companies, and patient groups.You have strong organizational and planning skills, and can efficiently prioritise competing work objectives.As this is a time-pressured role, applicants will need to be self-driven and able to manage their own work while also working as part of a team.
