Develop, implement & maintain comprehensive WHS strategies, systems, risk management processes & training programs at NZs fastest growing University.Mo te tuka | The roleSeeking applications for a Senior Health & Safety professional to provide strategic leadership, risk management, and the ability to foster collaboration across all levels of the university.Based in our vibrant HR team, your primary objective will be to create and maintain a safe and healthy working and learning environment for all employees, students, visitors, and contractors, in alignment with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.Some key tasks of the role include:Provide leadership in H&S matters including WHS strategies & systems, risk management and training programmesEmergency management response is in place and actively managedManagement of the H&S Work ProgrammeCompliance oversightH&S ReportingRelationship managementThis is a permanent role working 37.5 hours per week based at our Lincoln Campus.
The salary range is set at circa $130,000 per annum.Ka tino Pukeka/Wheako | Essential skills/experience for the roleTo be successful in this role you will need:A formal qualification in Occupational Safety and Health or a good working knowledge of legislation, regulations, relevant standards and codes of practice and a willingness to undertake training.At least five years' experience in Health, Safety and Wellbeing within a large organisationAt least five years' experience in Safety and or injury management.Experience in emergency response and/or CIMS-trainedExperience in managing a team of professionals.Demonstrated ability to write Health and Safety and Wellbeing procedures and policies.Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with workers and all level of management.Demonstrated effective organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
The ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.High levels of competency with Microsoft applications.Ability to work with limited supervision and in a team while demonstrating initiative and judgment.Registered Health and Safety Professional e.g.
