About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Officer - Projects to join our team on a fixed-term basis. In this role, you will be responsible for the oversight and implementation of health and safety systems across The Fono, excluding clinical aspects. Under the guidance of the Manager – Quality Assurance, you will ensure that our health and safety standards are maintained, and all related projects are delivered on time and within budget. Additionally, you will support various corporate services projects, contributing to our ongoing efforts to promote a safe and compliant workplace.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and manage health and safety systems across the organization, in line with relevant legislation and guidelines.
Provide training and support to staff and contractors, ensuring compliance with The Fono's health and safety protocols.
Lead and participate in corporate services projects, ensuring successful delivery according to project timelines.
Prepare reports and presentations for the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Manager – Quality Assurance on all health and safety matters.
Monitor and audit health and safety practices, addressing any non-compliance and promoting continuous improvement.

About you
You are a conscientious and well-organized individual with a strong background in health and safety management. You excel at both independent work and collaboration, bringing excellent interpersonal skills to the table. You have experience in project management and a passion for ensuring that all operations are safe, efficient, and compliant. A full NZ driver's license is required, along with the flexibility to travel across Auckland.
