Health & Safety Manager
Invercargill

About the Role: On behalf of our leading construction industry client, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Manager to join their high-performing team. Reporting to the CEO and Board of Directors, the role will be responsible for day-to-day Health & Safety for five branches and liaising with staff and clients. Expectations include ensuring the effective and efficient implementation of their safety management system, compliance with regulatory requirements, and continuous improvement of their safety practices.

Your Responsibilities:
Maintaining Health & Safety computer systems (Beware)
Maintaining and looking for adherence & improvements relating to ISO 45001 accreditation
Organising and planning staff training and inductions
Leading post-incident investigations and management into safety incidents and near-misses
Weekly reporting to branches on upcoming training, safety equipment auditing, and compliance
Monthly reporting to the Board of Directors regarding Health & Safety and key safety indicators
Travelling to other branches to conduct monthly Health & Safety audits and risk assessments
Lead regular management reviews on Health & Safety performance
About you: You'll relish ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safety management systems, provide expert advice on Health & Safety matters and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Have a relevant work history that demonstrates a strong commitment and delivery of Health & Safety improvement, management, and best practice.

Qualifications/Experience:
At least 3 years of proven experience in a senior safety management role
Strong knowledge of safety management systems and regulatory requirements
Appropriate safety management training and certification
Occurrence investigation training and certification
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
