Health & Safety Coordinator

Part time role supporting the HSW and HR teams in ensuring a safe work environment, manage health programmes, and provide key admin support.

Mo te tuka | The role
Seeking applications for a dedicated professional to provide administrative support to our onsite Health & Safety team. You will be based in our vibrant HR department and will assist in providing a comprehensive range of support services to enhance our return-to-work programme, annual health monitoring and health & safety processes.

Some tasks of the role include:

Ensure the H&S Work Programme is in place and being actively managed.

Support employees and assist managers with rehabilitation and return-to-work plans.

Plan, implement and manage annual Health Monitoring programme and staff Influenza Vaccination programme.

General H&S support as required.

This is a permanent part time role working 20 hours per week (0.53 FTE) to be worked between the hours of 8:30am - 4:00pm, based at our Lincoln Campus. Days of work will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

The remuneration range for this position is set at $60,000 - $65,000 per annum based on 1.0 FTE.

Ka tino Pukeka/Wheako | Essential skills/experience for the role
To be successful in this role you will need:

Two years experience in a H&S or Wellbeing support position.

Understanding and application of relevant NZ statutory requirements in relation to Health and Safety.

Effective communication, good inter-personal skills, and the ability to use discretion where necessary.

Ability to plan and prioritise daily work assignments and to exercise good judgement in managing competing priorities.

Confident user of Microsoft suite.

Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience in H&S is desirable.

Demonstrated commitment to Manaakitaka and Lincoln University values.
