Health & Safety Co-Ordinator - Fixed Term, Parental Leave Cover As the H&S Coordinator, you will provide expert direction and support in alignment with GWD's Safety, Environmental, and Wellbeing policies, procedures, and frameworks, as well as acting as a key point of contact across the business on Health & Safety matters. Working closely with all staff and receiving support from our management team, you will ensure the highest standards of workplace safety and compliance across multiple branches.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Conducting incident investigations into workplace incidents to identify causes and implement corrective actions.
Support and assist managers in identifying hazards and promoting safe work practices.
Book, coordinate and manage health and safety training for staff to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Facilitate monthly Health & Safety Committee meetings, encouraging committee members to actively promote a safe work environment.
Oversee Toitu/Enviromark management across all branches.
Perform monthly data reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance.
About you
Proven experience in workplace health and safety.
A strong understanding of H&S legislation and regulations.
Ability to advise and work effectively with key stakeholders, including management, employees, and external contractors on safety issues, and to influence positive safety outcomes.
Strong time management, organisational and prioritisation skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Competence in navigating complex problems and working well under pressure, including in emergency situations.
Comfortable with travel and capable of working independently and across various branches in Invercargill, Gore, Alexandra and Queenstown.
