Mo te whai waahi | About the opportunity We're looking for a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Specialist to join our team in a full-time, permanent capacity. The position is ideally based at our Christchurch Support Office in Burnside, however we're open to your location. Occasional national travel is required.
Reporting to the General Manager - Health, Safety & Wellbeing you'll:
Be a visible champion for HSW Support our 80+ retail store network to implement and maintain safe workplaces Coach and develop operational leaders Roll out and implement HSW training and initiatives Collaborate across the business to build a culture empowering everyone to lead in HSW Support the delivery of systems and projects to improve overall HSW performance You'll join a close-knit HSW team whose achievements in the past 12 months range from introducing a nationwide mental health and wellbeing programme to the build and implementation of a new state the art health & safety management system.
With 1300+ employees and 80+ retail sites across the motu, you'll have huge variety. You'll get to see the big picture, be on the tools, and influence from the ground up to senior leader level. Whether you're writing SOPs or documentation, completing investigations, or coaching our leaders, you'll do all whilst credibly influencing health and safety outcomes across Farmlands.

Mohou ake | About you

This is the perfect role for a senior HSW Professional with a passion for stakeholder engagement and coaching to support our Retail leaders to drive forward and maintain current HSW initiatives.
Key to your success will be: Experience in HSW at national level or across multiple sites At least 4 years' experience as a safety professional in a medium-large organisation with complex operational risk and safety requirements A proven ability to positively influence change in health, safety, and wellbeing culture Experience leveraging technical knowledge and subject matter expertise to deliver outcomes and strengthen HSW capability across the business Critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills Resilience, initiative, and the ability to work at pace Highly regarded: Retail industry experience A tertiary qualification in HSW or related area Mo nga painga | About the benefits You'll have autonomy in a collaborative environment, work in a motivated and high performing team, and partner with passionate people across the organisation.
