It is an exciting time to be a part of our continued success story.Te aheinga - The opportunity:Reporting to the People and Culture Manager, the Health and Safety Advisor is responsible for overseeing, monitoring, and implementing the Health & Safety (H&S) policies and procedures for Te Tawharau o Te Whakatohea (TToTW) and Te Pou Oranga o Te Whakatohea Charitable Trust (TPOoTWCT) and their employees.Ensuring the Organisation is legally compliant, risks, injuries, and health issues in the workplace are reduced, prevented, investigated, and monitored. Strategy, training, and advice are provided, and the well-being of our employees is promoted and enhanced.Identify hazards and mitigate the risks.Investigate and report incidents and accidents.Provide specialist advice on interpretation and application of H&S policies and procedures.Process all risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).Coordinate quarterly H&S & Well-being Committee meetings.Complete H&S reporting for Senior Leadership, Board, and Directors meetings, as well as training and incident registers.Develop and implement the Work Well and employee well-being program in conjunction with the P&C Manager and team.Oversee and coordinate training education and inductions for all employees and H&S Reps.New Zealand Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety Practice (Level 3 or 4).2+ years' experience in a Health & Safety Advisor (or 3-5 years in a H&S Officer) role across different industries including health, education, trades, pre-trades, agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, or similar is preferred.Familiarity with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.Experience with risk assessments, incident reporting, and hazard management.Strong administrative and communication skills.Experience in coordinating and facilitating group training and one-on-one coaching.Familiarity working in an Iwi Organisation, implementing well-being strategies is advantageous.Commitment to upholding the integrity of our uara/values.Knowledge of Te Whakatohea me ona tikanga would be highly regarded.If your skills and experience match this role, please APPLY NOW!
