Health & Injury Recovery Advisor

Our Health & Injury Recovery Advisor is responsible for providing health services such as first line injury treatment, rehabilitation and ongoing injury management to our colleagues at site.
In this people focused position you will carry out health monitoring, pre-employment medicals, and drug testing. You will also work with our ACC provider Howden Care to ensure that injured employees are rehabilitated as quickly and efficiently as possible.
This role will be on site 8am to 5pm. We are based at Waitotara, about 35 minutes from Whanganui.
Key responsibilities: Occupational health monitoring, by organising contractors or providing this servicePre-employment and random drug and alcohol testingBuilding relationships with local health providers and Howden CareAdministration, management and rehabilitation of work-related injuries and return to work plansPromotion of health and wellness, and prevention of injury in line with the Health & Safety management planYou will work closely with the Health & Safety Advisor to support audits and roll-out initiatives across the site. You'll need to be able to communicate and develop relationships with people from a range of backgrounds.
Ideally you would be an experienced nurse with a background in Occupational Health or be a PHEC trained professional with knowledge in injury management. You will be confident with administering a range of first aid treatments, pre-employment checks and drug & alcohol testing as well as occupational health monitoring. Experience in ACC and the Accredited Employers Programme Injury Management would be advantageous.
