Health Informatics Analyst

Here at Whanganui DHB, we have a 1-year fixed term, full-time position within our Strategy, Commissioning and Population Health team. We are currently migrating to Office 365 and looking to transform our current informatics delivery with the introduction of cloud technologies and BI tools, such as Microsoft's Power Platform & PowerBI. This involves the collection, integration and delivery of information from various complex health systems in secondary care, as well as data from the primary sector.
To be successful in this role, candidates should have the following:
Experience (4+ years) in extraction, integration, analysis and reporting.
Highly proficient in SQL, with the ability to understand, formulate and create efficient queries, views and stored procedures to prepare data for ETL, ad-hoc requests and presentation within the reporting tools.
Advanced skills in BI toolsets - PowerBI & DAX, Power Pivot, Power Query, Visual Studio, SSRS, MS Excel, etc.
Experience in working with, or migrating to, cloud-based services, especially from a data perspective. Includes the use of the Microsoft Power Platform.
An ICT or business tertiary qualification in a relevant field (preferred).
Experience in the Health Industry (preferred).
Experience with specific systems utilised by the DHB, including (preferred):
webPAS
Clinical Portal
Trendcare
PSE/HRIS
Carestream RIS
CBS CostPro

Additional preferred knowledge, particularly within a business intelligence function:
Microsoft Azure including cloud database expertise
Microsoft Machine Learning and AI
Microsoft Teams, PowerApps & Sharepoint
Software development skills

Be flexible and adaptable, with effective communication skills and an eye for detail.
Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
The ability to prioritise work, juggle demands and, above all, a can-do attitude.
