Pae Ora - Corrections Health Services lead the delivery of patient-focused health care services to those in our care and their whanau, across Aotearoa.
It is a nurse-led service providing nursing services and general practice services. Health teams are multidisciplinary in nature with various primary health clinicians (including medical officers and dentists) contracted by the department.
Hokai Rangi, our over-arching strategic direction, places the focus on health at the heart of our business. Building our frameworks from a Matauranga Maori basis is our focus to drive and support equity for Maori, which in turn will contribute to achieving our outcomes of reducing reoffending.

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated people leader to lead our health centre team of clinical and non-clinical staff at Mt Eden Corrections Facility.
You will be both operationally focused and driven to engage and enhance your team as a leader, with overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations, clinical governance activities, and quality and resource management of our health services.
The wider team deals with a broad range of health issues, responds to emergencies, and undertakes health education for this high health needs population.
Working collaboratively with Doctors, Allied Health professionals, external agencies, and other Corrections staff, you will promote a philosophy of care within the prison which ensures the delivery of quality health services to the people in our care; therefore, the ability to form new relationships is vital in this role.

Have well-developed leadership and management skills. Operational experience working in large and complex multidisciplinary settings. Demonstrates business acumen within a health care setting. Demonstrates understanding of a philosophy of care which ensures staff, systems, and processes are focused on providing safe, competent, and timely health care for people in prison. The full salary range for this large prison site is $146,744 up to $170,514. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
