THE ROLEAra Poutama is seeking a new Health Centre Manager for Auckland Prison.
The Health Centre Manager (HCM) is a statutory role that is primarily responsible for ensuring the provision of health care and treatment for people in our care.
The HCM is a leader of health services in prison sites and has overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations, clinical governance activities, and quality and resource management in the health services.
They oversee and manage health centre staff competence and compliance with policy, monitor for quality improvement and lead implementation of new policies and initiatives.
The HCM works closely with the regional and national health leaders.
THE CANDIDATEAs the ideal candidate, you will be a registered nurse with extensive leadership experience in the health field You will bring a growth mindset and be able to build and maintain work environments that value diversity and innovation.
You will be an advanced communicator who is resilient, organised, has an eye for quality, as you develop and maintain innovative health services in partnership with custody.
You will be an effective leader who can motivate, delegate, and collaborate, enabling you to effectively establish and maintain internal partnerships and relationships across the wider health system.
You will have an understanding of the rights of Maori as tangata whenua and the Treaty of Waitangi obligations for Corrections Health Services to improve health outcomes for Maori.
