About the Opportunities
Permanent 24 -32 hrs per week (0.6 – 0.8 FTE) and
Casual positions
Based in Blenheim, this role involves working under the direction of a Registered Nurse in our inpatient unit, and community providing support for patients, their families, whanau and carers along their palliative journey.
We want you to bring all your experience, skills, and knowledge in your kete so that the patients and family/whanau who enter our service receive the highest level of care possible as they navigate a pivotal chapter in their life.
Key Responsibilities
Support inpatients with activities of daily living, food and fluid intake.
Housekeeping duties to ensure infection control standards are maintained.
Contribute to individuals' care planning with the registered nurse and evaluation of plans.
Provide support for individuals and their whanau, helping to strengthen their own support networks.
Provide administrative support: answering phone calls, visitor enquiries and general day to day running of IPU.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, internal auditing.
About You
Our successful applicant will ideally have previous Health Care Assistance experience and hold a New Zealand Certificate in Health & Wellbeing or be prepared to work towards the same.
The right person will have:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Be adaptable, calm and have a professional attitude.
An understanding and commitment to the principles of cultural safety.
Able to provide evidence of permanent rights to work in New Zealand with no restrictions.
Able to provide evidence of a current, clean full driver's licence.
