About the Role As a Health Care Assistant, you will be part of our dedicated nursing environment with full support. Your role is to work within the team to assist nursing staff in care delivery, one-to-one patient watches, and other tasks as directed.
You will be working on an as required basis, primarily across AM and PM shifts, rostered Monday to Sunday, with the occasional Night Shift.
There are no fixed hours of work; however, some forward planning will be available when covering for planned leave.

You will also have the ability to work in a flexible and methodical manner, demonstrating honesty and reliability, and will be adaptable to change, use appropriate initiative, and respond flexibly to service needs.Experience within the health sector is essential, and additional training will be provided.Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Qualifications Year 11 NCEA level 1 English (or equivalent).Year 11 NCEA level 1 Maths (or equivalent).Mandatory requirement *NZQA Level 3: New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing - Health Assistance Strand, if not previously obtained, is to be commenced once orientations have been attended.
