The Napier District Masonic Trust is proud to have assisted the aged in our community for the past 60 years and will continue to plan and provide housing and care for our elderly in the coming years. We have an excellent reputation for providing quality residential aged care and affordable retirement village accommodation. We believe every elderly person has a right to a place they can call home regardless of age, stage, means or needs. We are a community built on love, respect and care for our residents, their families and each other.
We currently have casual Healthcare Assistant vacancies available, in both our aged care facilities in Napier South and Taradale.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Working as a Healthcare Assistant is a busy and diverse role, assisting our residents with their daily living needs and cares, delivering meals, providing emotional care and support, and much more. Whether you are an experienced Healthcare worker or someone looking to start their career, working as a Healthcare Assistant is a rewarding career path and a vital part of our team optimising the quality of life of our residents.
This is a casual "as and when required" position, assisting us to fill gaps in the roster, cover planned and unplanned leave. We have a variety of shifts available including morning, afternoon, nightshift, weekdays, and weekends. Casual roles may lead to permanent positions in the future for those wanting to commit to regular hours.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To thrive in our friendly and supportive environment and provide quality and consistent care to residents we are looking for someone who:
Has experience working in health care and/or a desire to work in an aged care environment;
Can provide empathy, care, and patience with elderly residents;
Possesses outstanding communication skills;
Is friendly and professional with a high regard for privacy and confidentiality;
Has a reliable and punctual work ethic;
Has a sense of humour and enjoys working as part of a close well-functioning team;
Is culturally sensitive.
Full training and ongoing professional development will be provided including a supportive and tailored orientation programme to suit individual needs. We also support our Health Care Assistants toward gaining nationally recognised qualifications.
