Health Care Assistant - Thames at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Waikato, Waikato Where you'll be working: Inpatient Unit Thames Hospital
The details: Permanent, part-time and casual positions available-Rostered and rotating shifts
Salary details: Nursing and Midwifery Collective Agreement
The patient group are largely elderly (although not all), who have been admitted with a medical problem and who require assistance with daily cares whilst they are unwell. The Rehabilitation Unit provides a slightly different focus for patients whom are clinically stable and require active rehabilitation so they can return safely to their own homes. Te whiwhinga mahi| The Opportunity Key responsibilities of the role:
Work under supervision of the Registered or Enrolled Nurse Providing the daily hygiene cares for patients Maintain patients' physical safety Play an active role in the Multi-disciplinary team Restocking cupboards with supplies necessary for daily work (Please note position descriptions can only be viewed on the Te Whatu Ora, Waikato website.) Skills and experience you'll need to be considered for the role:
Mature with an interest in the care of the elderly A full orientation will provided if you do not have experience caring for people Can perform assigned tasks in patient care, including managing equipment The Inpatient unit is comprised of General Medicine and Rehabilitation. On occasion, you will be expected to work in other departments within the hospital or to accompany patients in a care role on non-urgent ambulance transfer.
