Healthcare Assistants - Cambridge

We are seeking to employ 6 Healthcare Assistants (Level 4) at Te Awa Lifecare in Cambridge, Waikato.

Te Awa Lifecare is a privately owned residential village for older adults, offering a full range of assisted living care options including a rest home, hospital, and dementia care suite.

Our staff are chosen for their skill and caring approach, aiming to create strong connections and trust with residents. You will be providing all aspects of clinical care.

Essential Skills we are looking for:

Ensure all residents can meet their daily activities of life, including washing, dressing, feeding, grooming, toileting, and supporting participation in activities.

Provide emotional and spiritual support as required and maintain the dignity and privacy of the residents, adhering to confidentiality policies.

Ensure residents' environments are clean and hygienic, maintaining high standards and reporting broken equipment as needed.

Adhere to health professionals' requirements for individual residents' care.

Work as a team member across the unit and facility to support the overall standard of care.

Support a culture of continuous quality improvement by highlighting areas of concern or opportunities for better practices.

Complete relevant documentation for residents including contributing to care plans and incident reports as needed.

Position Details:

Pay rate: $28.25 per hour (Level 4 pay equity rates).

Minimum of 30 hours of work per week and maximum of 40 hours.

Shift patterns operate on a 24/7 roster, requiring availability for night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience (Aged Care or Hospital setting) or a Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 (or equivalent).

Ability to pass police checks and drug screening.

A valid New Zealand work visa or New Zealand citizenship/residency is required.

While the role is rewarding, the demanding 24/7 roster may not suit those seeking a standard work-life balance. Applicants should be prepared for the challenges of working in a busy healthcare setting.

Ability to commute/relocate:

Cambridge, Waikato: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
