We have a triage area, a rapid assessment area, dedicated resuscitation areas, acute, sub-acute and paediatric cubicles. Our department carries out all acute care, including full patient resuscitation facilities, management of trauma, fractures, injuries etc. It is expected that the successful candidates will participate in all aspects of the roster, including weekends and night shifts as we operate 24/7. It is therefore important you have the flexibility to commit to these rostered shifts.As a Health Care Assistant you will be involved in the following:Supporting our Nurses and other members of the health care teamPatient cares, as requiredWard maintenancePatient watch/supervision, with one-on-one care as requiredAbout you:Must already hold work rights as these roles do not qualify for visa sponsorshipCommitted to high standards of practiceWell organised and have excellent communication skillsExperience working with people in a caring capacity is also essential, whether that experience is gained from within a professional environment, or from caring for children or family membersCompetency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthExperience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settingsHow to applyTo view the position description and/or apply for the role please click "apply now."
