About the role:
Being Better is not a destination, it is a journey that we work on every day, and it should never reach an endpoint. We are now at the point on this journey where our current Health and Safety & QA Manager is moving into a specific QA focused role, and we are looking for a dedicated Health and Safety Manager to pick up this important function and to support the Better Eggs business moving forward ensuring our workplace safety is EGG-ceptional.
As the Health and Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety protocols across our operations. You will ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations while promoting a culture of safety across our sites.
Primary duties include:
Lead the design, implementation, and review of health and safety systems and processes.
Support developing a strong Safety culture across Better Eggs, focused on getting everyone home safe every day.
Ensure compliance with New Zealand health and safety legislation and industry standards.
Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
Develop and deliver safety training programs to upskill our workforce.
Collaborate with operational teams to ensure safety practices are integrated into daily workflows.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety and well-being.
Lead by example, fostering a proactive safety culture among all employees.
Prepare and present reports on safety performance metrics to senior management.

Qualifications:
Proven experience in a Health and Safety Manager or similar role, preferably within the agricultural or manufacturing sectors.
Strong knowledge of New Zealand's Health and Safety at Work Act (HSWA) and relevant regulations.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to engage staff at all levels.
Analytical mindset with the ability to identify risks and implement practical solutions.
Experience in conducting audits, risk assessments, and investigations.
Relevant qualifications in health and safety.
A passion for continuous improvement and a commitment to creating a safe and supportive workplace.
Hands-on Safety leadership actively engaging with employees and the work environment to promote safety practices and foster a culture of safety.
