We are seeking a full-time Health and Safety Manager.
The right fit for our team and how we operate is essential to the success of this role and for growing our internal health and safety capability and building on the existing health and safety culture in our front-line and management teams.To be successful in the role of Health and Safety Manager you must:Have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, confident in building strong relationships with a variety of stakeholdersBe confident in ensuring all staff and relevant parties take responsibility and remain accountable for health and safetyHave the ability to plan, prioritise and manage a diverse workload and deliver to agreed deadlinesBe an experienced Health & Safety Manager with at least 2 years in a dedicated health and safety role.
Ideally, you will hold or be working towards a tertiary qualificationHave strong analytical and negotiation skills, confident to challenge the norm to ensure best practice prevailsBe adaptable and flexible, no two days will be the same!A proactive approach to problem-solving using initiative and maximising resourcesDemonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with accompanying attention to detail.Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products, i.e., Word, ExcelBe self-managing and motivated, able to work productively on your own or in a team environmentBe willing to travelThe day-to-day tasks for the Health and Safety Manager will include but not be limited to:Implementing and monitoring H&S processes, systems and tools, completing risk assessments and auditsManaging the health and safety of contractors and relevant parties to ensure safety in the workplace and sitesSetting up and running health and safety inductions for staff and contractorsOverseeing and following up on all incidents, accidents and hazard reportingReviewing and continually improving policies and procedures for the businessOrganising and managing internal and external auditsEnsuring the upkeep of a safe workplace in line with the agreed standardsEnsuring compliance with legislation and WorkSafe NZ expectationsProvide leadership in health and safety, driving a positive safety culture throughout the organisation, while still keeping it real for our front-line staff.Your application will include the following questions:How many years' experience do you have as a Health and Safety Manager?Are you available to travel for this role when required?Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?How many years' experience do you have as a Health and Safety Adviser?Are you willing to undergo a pre-employment medical check?Do you have a current New Zealand driver's licence?
