About the Car Distribution Group:  The Car Distribution Group (The CDG) is 100% Kiwi owned and operated. We are the leading nationwide distributor of vehicles throughout New Zealand, and we move over 300,000 vehicles annually.  We have been in business for over 40 years. About the role: Forming part of the Senior Management Team and reporting to the Executive Director, this dual role of  Health and Safety/Human Resources Manager is responsible for the overall management of our safety practices and culture, and the human resource function for the Group.  The role is based at our head office in Wiri, South Auckland.  Travel within New Zealand will be required from time to time. Key Responsibilities include:  Health and Safety Lead and collaborate with a small team (HR, H&S, Training)Implement and lead H&S strategy and developments.Ensure H&S compliance and undertake regular reviews.Maintain the tertiary accreditation for the Accredited Employer ProgrammeHuman Resources Oversee recruitment – ensure staffing levels are maintained to enable the business to run efficientlyMaintain Accredited Employer status for our Immigration process and manage inbound international workers and their visasContribute to the development, review and implementation of HR policies and procedures.Industrial Relations - Manage the relationship with the Union and participate in Union negotiationsManage and supervise the payroll functionOversee the training function in conjunction with our three internal trainersTo succeed in this role, you should be able to demonstrate Excellent leadership experience, with the ability to work with our long-standing and experienced operational team, the group directors and lead the company forward.Be able to demonstrate experience in a dual Health and Safety/HR role, in a similar environment, preferably in the transport sectorAgility – the need to be able to move between a hands-on operational environment, and senior management levelThis is a challenging and rewarding role for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a proven track record of success.
