Te Turanga - The Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join the team at our Mataura Plant. Working closely with the Health and Safety Manager, this role is a critical part of the team.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Helping to drive a safety-centered culture, based on Alliance's Health and Safety strategy and plant operational requirements.
Facilitating the collection, interpretation, and presentation of safety data, trend identification, and generating safety reports, statistics, and analysis of safety data.
Providing ongoing support for employee absence management, reasons, and ACC/Non-Work-related ACC absences as well as return to work plans.
Producing insightful, relevant, and timely reports within relevant timeframes and standards that meet requirements and enhance the understanding of the Health and Safety Manager.
Being the point of contact for Health and Safety Representatives, including facilitating and coordinating monthly meetings.
Site point of contact for Risk Manager.
Other duties as required.

O pukenga - About You
To be successful in this role, you will have comprehensive knowledge of New Zealand's Workplace Health and Safety legislation and guidelines, with a willingness to keep learning and stay up to date with relevant case law, as well as:
Recent hands-on experience working within an operational health and safety role.
Experience within a high-risk industrial environment, preferably food manufacturing.
Proven interpersonal and relationship-building skills, at all levels of an organisation.
Concise and clear communication skills both verbal and written.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite – Excel and Word.
A tertiary education qualification in Workplace Health and Safety or something similar is highly regarded.
