The ideal candidate will be passionate about the early childhood education sector and ready to put their hand up to lead our hard-working and loving team.The head teacher is responsible for the running of the centre with the strong support of a skilled management team, dedicated teachers and Governance Board.
The management team is made up of an administrator, responsible for finances, a team leader for under two's and a team leader for over two's.
The head teacher will be responsible for the quality of teaching and learning at the Centre, providing leadership, communication and inspiration to ensure every child and teacher is able to reach their full potential.
You will use your interpersonal skills to create an inclusive environment and strong relationships with the children, whanau, staff and wider community.Westport Early Learning Centre is a locally owned and operated not-for-profit community asset.
The Centre was established in the Westport community over 30 years ago, by a passionate and dedicated group of mothers and Mrs L Smith, in a time when childcare was not the norm.
The priority then was to offer childcare facilities to support working families.
Fast forward to 2024 and despite industry change, the key focus on children is still the same.
