Permanent, full-time position – Monday to Friday, 7.45am–4.15pm (40 hours per week) Are you an experienced leader in early childhood education, passionate about working at a community-based preschool and looking for a new opportunity? We have a unique hybrid role at East Taieri Preschool that could be a great fit for you! At East Taieri Preschool, our children, community and teachers are at the heart of everything we do. We cater to tamariki aged 2.5 to 5 years old, operating from 8am to 3.15pm, and are licensed for up to 35 children. Our dedicated team includes 7 fully registered and qualified teachers, supported by excellent administrative staff. Our preschool is governed by a parent-led Governing Board elected from within our vibrant community. In this autonomous role, you will be a head teacher but will carry many responsibilities that would usually be overseen by a centre manager, hence the uniqueness of the role. You will receive fantastic administrative support from our office manager and will collaborate closely with the Governing Board and assistant head teacher to manage daily operations, staff management, curriculum, compliance, policies, and procedures. You will lead a team of dedicated teachers to deliver high-quality education and care to our tamariki and their whanau, modeling best practices while working alongside them. We are seeking someone who is passionate, has integrity and who will bring valuable experience and fresh perspectives to our preschool while preserving its very special charm. Our ideal candidate will be a natural leader who aligns with our values and vision, has a strong understanding of programme planning and assessment, and demonstrates a drive and passion for growth.
