Advieh Restaurant and Bar at InterContinental Auckland is seeking an innovative and talented Head Pastry Chef to lead our pastry team. Partnering closely with renowned Chef Gareth Stewart, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of our dessert offerings and set new standards in the culinary arts.
As our Head Pastry Chef, you will be at the helm of our pastry operations, leading and inspiring a dedicated team of pastry professionals. Your role is pivotal in setting the vision, creativity and direction of all pastry items, ensuring that each creation is a masterpiece.

Leadership and Team Development: Leading, mentoring, and developing a talented team of pastry chefs, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Menu Creation and Development: Designing and implementing a unique and ever-evolving dessert menu that reflects both seasonal ingredients and the highest culinary standards.
Quality Control: Overseeing all aspects of pastry production to ensure consistency, quality and presentation align with our brand's standards.
Operational Excellence: Managing pastry operations, including inventory control, purchasing and cost management, to maximise efficiency and maintain budgetary goals.
Innovation and Collaboration: Working closely with Chef Gareth Stewart and the broader culinary team to create new and exciting pastry concepts that enhance our overall menu.
Training and Compliance: Ensuring all team members adhere to food safety regulations and standards, while continuously developing their skills and knowledge.

What we need from you

Proven experience in a high-end kitchen, with at least two years in a leadership role or similar.
A deep understanding of pastry techniques and a strong sense of creativity.
Proven experience in menu development and cost management.
Excellent leadership skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
A proactive and collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
