An opening has arisen for an enthusiastic and passionate head of Y7 and Y8 social studies to join our team, commencing term 1, 2025. Key duties and responsibilities: Provide professional leadership within middle school social studies Ensure the maintenance of high standard teaching and learning Assist with curriculum strategy, annually reviewing units of work and programmes and analysing relevant data Collaborate with other curriculum leaders and teachers to support the Humanities Faculty and achievement of school wide strategic goals Promote and grow the subject and enhance academic progress. Key skills and experiences: Registered NZ teacher with valid practising certificate Teaching degree or equivalent education and/or experience Detailed knowledge, understanding and experience of current teaching methodologies and assessment practices Excellent oral and written communication skills Positive and collaborative team member, showing enthusiasm and commitment to promoting their faculties and respect to staff Willingness to uphold the special character and culture of Saint Kentigern and commitment to the co-curricular programme of the college Strong understanding of health and safety and committed to upholding and role modelling best practice.
