About the Role The purpose of this role is to lead and manage all things Ski Racing at Coronet Peak and The Remarkables.You will provide direction and leadership to the race crew on day to day operations of events, setting up and running events such as Winter Games.
Work closely with QAST our local ski racing club and all the international teams coming to train on a day to day basis.
You will be accountable for performance management of the race crew, ensuring all operations are safe and maintaining an outstanding level of customer service and presentation of our outdoor activities on the mountain.
Key Duties: Manage all Health & Safety for our Race Training and Events including Set-up, installation Conducting accident investigations, Identification and reporting of hazards, Proactive in enforcing health & safety standards, Responding to weather / snow conditions, Maintaining accurate records and timely invoicing for event production, event entry and race training, Meticulous planning of all events from concept through to delivery and post event review, Working with the Marketing department and external stakeholdersfor event planning, promotion and execution, Raking, shovelling, and maintaining features (including salting), Set-up of fencing and signage, Snow mobile operation Encouraging, recognising and rewarding high performance, as well as mentoring race crew and Team Leaders while promoting a team culture, Contribute to establishment of a clear business plan and budget, consistent with NZSki's strategy and aligned with ski area operational plan, Set goals and accountabilities for Team Leaders, Provide strong leadership to all Race and Park crew, ensure the team is committed to and delivers on the company's vision and values, About You Previous experience with race crew in New Zealand or internationally Personal experience of racing to FIS level Race coaching experience to pre FIS and/or FIS level A good level of personal fitness and the ability to work irregular/extended hours Adaptable to changes in rosters, being available and ready to work The ability to work under pressure and work well with in a team environment Good knowledge of ski area snow conditions, and be competent to ski or snowboard in all weather Knowledge of FIS alpine rules is essential Experience in snow sports instructing is desirable as will add to work opportunities during the season Electrical or software based knowledge for timing Course crew experience at FIS, ideally Continental or World Cup.
