In this important position, you'll take charge of recruitment, foster employee growth, shape company policies, oversee financial activities, and collaborate closely with the co-founders to implement essential operational strategies. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring our business runs smoothly while cultivating a positive and motivating workplace culture.Key Responsibilities:People & Culture:Lead recruitment, employee development, and company policies, promoting a diverse and inclusive work environment.Review and update company policies annually to ensure alignment with values and legal compliance.Drive full-cycle recruitment for domestic and international roles.Design and implement learning and development (L&D) programs to support employee growth and career development.Organise and lead annual company events such as 'Komodo Week.'Oversee performance management systems, feedback cycles, and employee engagement strategies.Develop and track KPIs for both individual and company performance.Business Operations:Ensure proper maintenance of company entities (licenses, insurance, tax obligations, etc.).Support co-founders in strategic decision-making and key business projects.Assist in scaling operations and adapting to new international markets.Streamline operational processes for efficiency and growth.Financial Oversight:Manage company budgets and financial planning to ensure alignment with business goals.Oversee banking, payroll, and reconciliation processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.Prepare and manage financial reporting, including GST returns and year-end financials.Monitor company cash flow, invoicing, and ensure financial health.Provide detailed financial updates to the co-founders, highlighting key metrics and insights.What We're Looking For:Proven experience in a similar leadership role, ideally in a tech or startup environment.Strong expertise in People & Culture, Business Operations, and Financial Management.Deep understanding of recruitment, employee development, and performance management.Solid financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, payroll, and cash flow management.Experience working with financial software (e.g., Xero or similar).Knowledge of compliance with legal and financial regulations, particularly in international markets.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a "people-first" approach.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.Comfortable working directly with the founders in a transparent and honest environment.A versatile, strategic thinker who can handle a range of responsibilities and prioritize effectively.What we are offeringThe base salary is between NZ$90k- $120k DOEESOP (own a part of the company you are contributing too!)Senior position within the Komodo management teamWhy Komodo?Impact: Join our team as we make a real difference in the wellbeing of students all around the globe!Culture: We believe in trust, teamwork, and the joy of continuous learning.
