Auckland One Rail is seeking a strategic and innovative leader to join our team as the Head of Network Interface. This pivotal role is responsible for managing key relationships between our operations and external network stakeholders, delivering a step-change in the network performance by delivering a road map that aligns KiwiRail's and AOR's KPIs and underpins a joint approach to delivery of the best possible customer outcomes.
About the RoleAs the Head of Network Interface, you are the key relationship position between KiwiRail and Auckland One Rail. You will lead and coordinate AOR's input review of KiwiRail's performance under the ANAA, with particular focus on network performance.
In this role, you will ensure that KiwiRail's plans to improve the network infrastructure are consistent with the whole of lifecycle asset optimisation, delivered to balance the impact on customers over the whole of asset life and achieve an outcome that is consistent with a world class metro service.
Key ResponsibilitiesWork with KiwiRail to deliver a step-change in the network performance by delivering a road map that aligns KiwiRail's and AOR's KPIs and underpins a joint approach to delivery of the best possible customer outcomes.Actively participate in the review and analysis of KPIs, delays and incidents, maintenance and renewal services, outstanding actions, and operational/contractual-related issues, amongst others, as required by stakeholders.Establish processes to ensure that observations made by operational staff are reported to and acted on by KiwiRail, with particular focus on ensuring that measures are taken to prevent a reoccurrence of the issue.Identify key items of rail infrastructure ('golden assets') that have a critical impact on operations when they fail. With KiwiRail's support, undertake an asset risk assessment across the network to identify golden assets and ensure works on these assets are prioritised in KiwiRail's Network Management Plans.Work with AT, our customers and stakeholders to identify increased rail maintenance windows that maximise the amount of time in which KiwiRail can take possession of lines without overly affecting customer services. This could include replacing trains with bus services towards the end of service.Jointly resourcing and delivering projects through accessing subject matter experts to help KiwiRail understand and resolve technical issues as required.The development of AOR's Network Management Plan, Network Improvement Plan and Track Possession Management Plan and coordinating all activities between AOR and KiwiRail in relation to the performance of the network.The role will provide oversight and coordination of all committees and working groups associated with the interaction between AOR and KiwiRail.About YouYou are an experienced professional with a strong background in rail operations and network management. Your ability to develop strategic partnerships and lead cross-functional teams will drive performance improvements and enhance collaboration across the organization. You possess excellent communication skills and are adept at navigating complex stakeholder environments.
