Head Of Marketing & Communications

Details of the offer

Enviro NZ is a leading environmental services company.
As a strategic partner for every sector of the economy, we provide tailored waste, recycling and recovery solutions that help New Zealanders reduce their environmental footprint.
With a dedicated team of over 1,200 employees and a national network of branches, processing sites and other key infrastructure, we support the vital sustainability efforts of over 20 local councils and more than half a million business and household customers across the country.
In 2023, the company became Enviro NZ, bringing its multiple business units and teams together under a single brand that represents our future focus on enabling circular waste solutions.
Our vision: A New Zealand where looking after the environment is second nature.
The Role: We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Head of Marketing and Communications to lead our strategic marketing and communications efforts.
Reporting to our passionate and value-driven CEO in this (initially) non-executive role, you will lead and grow a talented team of marketing and communications specialists, playing a major role in influencing the journey of one of New Zealand's sustainability leaders.
This pivotal position involves overseeing the development and execution of comprehensive marketing and communication strategies to enhance Enviro NZ's brand visibility, drive engagement, and support our mission of environmental sustainability.
Your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute the marketing and communications strategy to drive customer acquisition, retention, and lead generation while enhancing cross-functional collaboration.
With a digitally focused, forward-thinking approach, you will ensure that our marketing efforts are innovative and effective in a rapidly evolving market.
You will also develop and implement strategies that elevate our company's reputation, engage stakeholders (government, commercial, consumer, and internal), and align with our business objectives.
What you'll need for this role: With extensive senior leadership experience in a similar role with sole responsibility for both the marketing and communications functions and a successful track record in crafting and implementing impactful marketing and communications strategies, you also bring a tertiary qualification providing a solid foundation to lead our efforts effectively.
You understand premium brands and ideally have valuable exposure to companies in industries such as construction, manufacturing, or specialised services as well as experience working with a range of customers including local government, corporates, SMEs and consumers.
Your fluency in digital marketing tools and platforms is combined with extensive expertise and an existing network across the media landscape.
You have examples of developing and implementing multi-channel D2C (Direct-to-Consumer) strategies that delivered strong commercial results in past roles.
Your ability to perform at a very high level, both strategically and operationally, and adeptness at data analytics to provide actionable insights and an ability to use these skills to quickly understand our customers (both B2B and B2C) and know the right levers to pull will be crucial to engage customers and drive our marketing efforts successfully.
You have proven experience in developing and implementing strategic communication plans that are impactful and engage with a broad spectrum of stakeholders.
You remain calm under pressure, are commercially savvy and confident as a brand ambassador.
One of your key skills is the ability to foster strong relationships, both internally at all levels of diverse organisations, and externally, to build trust quickly.
Equally, you possess an excellent ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales and operations, to ensure alignment on implementation of marketing and communications strategy across businesses.
Your strong leadership skills and people management experience will enable you to lead and inspire your team effectively.
Fostering and encouraging not just a high-performance team but also a positive culture in line with Enviro NZ's values (Respectful, Honest, Supportive, Safe) is as important to you as it is to us.
Your commercial acumen, passion for innovation, and knack for driving change and negotiating outcomes are vital in our dynamic and ever-evolving market.
Your talent for recognising and leveraging what creates whole-of-business value and turning these insights into effective strategies are what will set you apart in this role.
