About the role There has never been a more exciting time to join this leading energy infrastructure company as they face firmly forward and action the next stage of their strategy.
In this newly created role of Head of Legal, you will support the General Counsel & Company Secretary and together you will both ensure this essential business continues to receive the very best of commercial legal support as they focus on executing future growth opportunities.
This role is challenging and moves at pace.
You will interact with a variety of stakeholders across the company.
Responsible for the delivery of legal support to the business, you will provide legal support for a wide variety of matters including growth projects, commercial contracting and procurement, statutory compliance reporting and other corporate law requirements.
Well supported by a first-class external legal panel, you will also provide advice on health and safety, environmental consent requirements and associated property matters.
You will also provide company secretarial support to your General Counsel as required.
This role is offered as a full-time permanent position, however 4 days per week, partial WFH or flexi-working across 5 days will be considered for the right candidate.

What we're looking for An experienced and qualified lawyer with at least 7 years PQE ideally including some inhouse experience or experience in a top tier law firm.
A current NZ legal practicing certificate is essential in this role.
Understanding of commercial contracts and transaction structures, including experience in identifying & managing legal risk through good contracting practice.
Skills and experience in New Zealand commercial, contract and business law, especially corporate law employment, property and health and safety legislation.
Understanding of listed company compliance requirements including NZX Listing Rules, Companies Act, Financial Markets Conduct Act, Health and Safety at Work Act, Resource Management Act.
Integrity, effective leadership skills and ability to work independently.
Business acumen, strategic thinking and ability to navigate a complex corporate environment is essential.
