Our college is a Y7-13 coeducational Catholic integrated college with attached boarding facilities. Our college is set in the heart of rural Southland and is very well-regarded in terms of academic results and successful sporting and cultural activities. We have a very supportive wider school community and we appreciate and value this support. The roll is about 380 students, and our staff are very future-focused with our collective aim being strong student-centred and responsive pedagogy throughout the college. Our college has a strong, restorative-based, pastoral system which is valued by parents, staff and students.
We are looking for an energised, positive person with a flair for organisation, coordination and communication. This is an opportunity for a middle leader to lead an innovative department and transform the way students engage with Aotearoa New Zealand Histories and our local curriculum, fostering a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.
The successful applicant will participate in the full life of our college including extra-curricular activities. The successful applicant will be a strategic thinker who works collaboratively, builds effective teams, leads by example and is an inspiration to others. They will have a genuine desire to contribute to the growth of young people and be confident communicating with staff, students and whanau. A strength in History teaching would be an advantage.
The successful applicant will accept the condition to support, uphold and be positively involved in the Catholic special character of the school.
