The Tuhura Otago Community Trust Science Centre, opened in 2017, features over 45 hands-on science interactives and the three-tier Tropical Forest.
Our Beautiful Science gallery and Perpetual Guardian Planetarium, completed in 2015, offer digitally interactive experiences.
In 2022, the Museum was renamed 'Tuhura Otago Museum' to better reflect our mission of inspiring curiosity, wonder, and understanding of the world.Today, Tuhura Otago Museum stands as a vibrant hub of cultural heritage, science, and discovery in New Zealand.

We are committed to expanding our outreach, enriching our exhibits, and furthering our mission to inspire and enrich our communities through our collections, our people, and the stories we share.Role PurposeA pivotal position of Head of Fundraising & Development has been established to propel Tuhura Otago Museum towards its future aspirations.
Joining the Museum's Leadership Team and reporting directly to the Museum Director, this role will be instrumental in boosting fundraising and sponsorship revenue by identifying, nurturing, co-ordinating, and soliciting funds or endowments from individual, foundation, corporate, and government funding/granting institutions.
The Head of Fundraising & Development will play a critical role in helping the organisation achieve its ambitious and exciting mission and activities.Your key responsibilities:Develop and implement strategies to secure funding from various sources.Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and potential donors.Co-ordinate fundraising events and activities.Collaborate with the Museum's Leadership Team to align funding opportunities with the Museum's strategic goals.Prepare proposals and grant applications.What we are seeking:Proven experience in fundraising, sponsorship, or a related field.Strong relationship management and communication skills.Demonstrated ability to secure funding from diverse sources.Strategic thinking and the ability to align fundraising activities with organisational goals.Experience in the cultural or non-profit sector is a plus.Application ProcessTo review the Candidate Briefing Pack for this opportunity, please visit this opportunity has piqued your interest, we would love to hear from you.
