The school opened in 1975 and has approximately 1800 students with 150 teaching and support staff combined. We seek an outstanding leader for our Faculty of English. Our ideal candidate will have evident strengths as a classroom teacher and curriculum design. They will be a leader who places high value on knowledge rich approaches and cognitive science considerate pedagogy with the capability to drive the professional growth of the wider team individually and collectively. As a kura we offer English Extension, English, and English Literacy pathways. We place a strong emphasis on high academic achievement secured by strong collective practice. Our Junior English programme is a knowledge and skills rich foundation for our NCEA co-requisite, senior courses and NZQA Scholarship.
