An exciting opportunity has opened up to join our team as the head of faculty— Biblical studies, starting January 2025.
KingsWay is a high achieving, growing, state integrated Christian area school catering for Y1-13 students. Our staff are supportive and collaborative, and our work is inspired by love/aroha, heartened by faith/whakapono in Jesus Christ, and motivated by gospel hope/tumanako.
This role is responsible to:
Effectively engage with and teach Biblical Studies to students in Y10–13
Continue to develop unit/standards which respond effectively and appropriately to all student needs
Successfully lead, mentor, and influence team members
Oversee the senior school Lifelab devotional programme
Contribute to strategic HOF and senior school meetings
Lead events/activities that support the biblical studies curriculum and school-wide special character
The successful candidate will:
Hold a theological qualification
Possess a high degree of pedagogical knowledge
Display enthusiasm, leadership and a desire to see young adolescents understand, flourish, and grow in faith, Christian worldview, and knowledge of the scriptures.
An important condition of employment is to uphold and support our Special Christian Character, including how this translates to supporting and growing our students' faith. You will enjoy contributing and promoting a biblically informed, Christ-centred worldview through your teaching and will protect and enhance our Christian character. You will also possess a willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the School to uphold the Special Character.
