If this sounds like you, we are looking for an outstanding and energetic event professional to Head up our Events team based at Mercury Baypark. Whether it's a concert, conference, meeting, exhibition, sport, or recreational activity, we do it all at Mercury Baypark. Our Head of Events will have overall responsibility for the attraction and delivery of Events, directly leading the Sales, Event Planning and Event Delivery teams.
The Head of Events is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving the vision and execution of high-quality events at Bay Venues. The primary purpose of this role is to:
Attract, manage, promote and host events across the Bay Venues network.
Ensure exceptional customer experiences while maximizing venue utilization and profitability.
Provide outstanding leadership to ensure teams are providing exceptional delivery for each event which drives referrals, repeat business and puts Bay Venues on the map as a high-quality event destination.
Critical skills for this role include:
Strong leadership with the ability to lead your direct teams (Sales, Event Planning and Event Delivery), as well as play a guiding role across other areas of venue delivery.
Ability to drive customer and stakeholder relationships, develop partnerships through outstanding customer service and strong knowledge of the events industry.
Sales and contracting – Lead the sales team to proactively promote and sell Mercury Baypark (and other venues as required).
Other skills include an understanding of venue delivery, strong business acumen and the ability to understand the key drivers of event profitability.
