We sat down with our GM Core Systems, and they let us know the following about the turanga (role).
What are some of the day to day tasks the person in this turanga will complete?
Develop and implement a technology-wide engineering strategy that aligns with BNZ's strategic ambition and technology strategy.
Influence the priorities of key core domains to drive the adoption of new technologies and the decommissioning of old technologies.
Build and lead a high-performing leadership team and domain. Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Represent engineering at an executive level to underline the critical nature of engineering, highlight opportunities and align investment with engineering strategy.
Responding to emerging issues.
Managing finances for the domain.
What is the tima culture and environment like?
Deeply technical, respectful and collaborative.
What projects / mahi (work) will the candidate be working on now and into the next year?
Five Flavours and Standardisation.
DevSecOps.
CLR support.
End of life and Hygiene initiatives
What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?

7+ years of software delivery team leadership across large complex organisations and diverse technology environments.
Successful establishment and execution of DevOps strategies.
