Head of Development, Sarjeant Gallery Permanent, full-time Built in 1919, the Sarjeant Gallery is one of New Zealand's oldest purpose-built galleries.
In 2024 the Sarjeant Gallery will return to its newly strengthened, refurbished and extended facility at Pukenamu. With a stunning building, a unique collection of over 8000 items including artworks and archival material and a dynamic changing exhibition programme it's easy to understand why the gallery is recognised as one of the best regional galleries in New Zealand.
We are looking for a dynamic Head of Development to lead fundraising and philanthropic programmes that support the future growth of the gallery. The successful applicant will be passionate about events and art, have a bachelor degree in a relevant field, a proven track record of working with donors and achieving fundraising goals. If you are motivated, can work independently to achieve ambitious goals and are a natural networker that wants to make big things happen, we would love to hear from you.
About the role: Reporting to the Director, the Head of Development will provide leadership and management oversight for the development and delivery of high-quality and impactful outputs in the Sarjeant Gallery team. The Head of Development is responsible for the development and successful execution of philanthropic programmes, the nurturing and growth of existing sponsors as well as the identification of new partnership opportunities and ongoing donor stewardship. The Head of Development will work closely with, and be supported by the Sarjeant Gallery Trust to build and maintain relationships and funding streams that will ensure the gallery's future.
