Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacherThe arts2MU's + 1MMAWe are seeking an accomplished musician and inspiring teacher to lead our Music Department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for leading music programs and thrive in a diverse, dynamic environment. You will be responsible for shaping the musical journey of students of all levels, from beginners to advanced performers. This role is a vibrant middle leadership position in the arts, with excellent Senior Leadership Team support. The position commences at the start of the 2025 academic year.The successful candidate will be responsible for curating and delivering a meaningful and high-quality curriculum programme (Y9-13, including NCEA L1-3 and Scholarship), coordinating various performance groups, and fostering a love of music within our school community. They will play a pivotal role in enhancing the artistic and cultural life of our school and developing students' talents and confidence.To excel in this position you should have:A genuine passion for music and the ability to inspire, engage, lead, and motivate students and staff.An innovative, positive, and forward-thinking approach.A high degree of cultural competence and a pedagogical approach grounded in relational and rapport-based teaching, with a strong commitment to inclusive practices and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills in order to connect with a wide range of stakeholders (staff, students, parents, and the broader community).The ability to provide a high challenge/high support learning environment.Excellent organisational skills.The ability and drive to develop and grow an extensive co-curricular music programme.The ability to oversee our itinerant music programme, ensuring an excellent experience for students receiving individual or small-group instruction.A focus on self-reflection and an ethos of continuous improvement.Applicants must be NZ registered, fully conversant with the NZ Curriculum, and have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.How to applyPlease send your CV, and direct enquiries to: #J-18808-Ljbffr
