Long Bay College is a co-educational secondary school located in a peaceful location near Long Bay Beach and the new Long Bay Village. The school opened in 1975 and has approximately 1800 students with 150 teaching and support staff combined.We are seeking a vibrant and passionate Head of Dance to join our enthusiastic, motivated, and growing Performing Arts Faculty for a position commencing in Term 1, 2025. This is an opportunity to lead within a creative and best-practice informed faculty and to support exceptional learning outcomes for our students.If you are an ambitious, demonstrably capable leader who places a high value on research informed pedagogy, curriculum design and leadership, we would love to hear from you. The successful applicant will have proven curriculum and leadership experience and will be informed on current and proposed curriculum and NCEA changes. The ability to teach a variety of dance types to both junior and senior levels, as well as supporting NCEA scholarship will be vital for this position.We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person who relates positively with colleagues and will facilitate inspirational and enjoyable learning opportunities for the students and whanau in our school community.A commitment to our culture of care, a willingness to grow as a practitioner, and to be a person who enjoys and celebrates high academic achievement is essential. Successful applicants will be expected to take a full part in the co-curricular life of the faculty and the school.This is a full-time permanent position which carries 1MU & 1MMA.Contract and remuneration will be in accordance with the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement (STCA): www.education.govt.nz/school/people-and-employment/employment-agreements/collective-agreements.Annual remuneration is dependent on service and qualifications, starting rate of $59,027 and top rate of $99,216. Hours of work will be full-time as set out in the STCA.
