Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, and based in either our Wellington or Palmerston North office, this role has responsibility for leading a team of Compliance Specialists in the development, implementation, and on-going function of FMG's Compliance framework ensuring we have the policies, procedures, systems and controls s to support a robust compliance framework and culture at FMG, including those required to support FMG's compliance with its licence obligations under the Financial Markets Conduct Act. The Head of Compliance will also contribute to the sustainable growth of the organisation through active participation on the Risk & Compliance Leadership Team. The successful candidate will be a commercially savvy leader and will have: 10+ years Financial/Insurance Industry experience, along with specialist knowledge and experience working in a regulated environment. Bachelor's degree in law, business management or similar discipline + Senior Compliance experience, including developing and implementing strategies. Extensive legislative and compliance knowledge, including the Financial Markets Conduct Act and the Insurance (Prudential Supervision) Act (and the licensing regimes relevant to that legislation). Strong relationship building skills at all levels of an organisation. High levels of personal accountability, energy, passion and integrity and a demonstrated ability to drive a strong, values driven, engaged team and culture!
