New Zealand Rugby Commercial is a small, dedicated team, predominantly based in our two main offices of Wellington and Auckland.
We are legally separate to NZR but nonetheless are still integral and integrated to NZ Rugby and continue to be owned by and inextricably linked to our parent.
We have a clear and focused mandate, to drive commercial and customer success for New Zealand Rugby.
New Zealand Rugby Commercial has an exciting opportunity available.
We are looking for a Head of Commercial Development to join our winning team to grow and develop NZ Rugby Commercial's (NZRC's) revenue by identifying and securing new offshore and local commercial partnerships as well as developing new and innovative commercial inventory and wider IP-based revenue opportunities, to support wider revenue growth for both NZ Rugby and NZ Rugby Commercial.
About the role In this role you will lead and inspire a small team of amazing sales and business development staff to drive international and domestic business results for NZ Rugby Commercial.
You will be responsible for achieving specific OKRs (objectives and key results) relating to revenue targets and other key commercial growth metrics.
Key focus activities will include: Designing and developing commercial inventory & properties Identifying and researching prospects to generate solid business leads Managing end-to-end sales processes & client engagement programme in market Developing and optimising world class presentation materials.
Acquisition & pitching (both video and in-person) Driving existing partner renewals and upgrades Creating new and innovative revenue streams for NZ Rugby Building exceptional working relationships both within NZ Rugby, across the partner network and with other external industry stakeholders.
To be successful in this role you will ideally have: Experience working with top-tier sports rights holder Proven success working within a commercial environment Minimum 8 years' experience in a front-line sales or business development role.
Broad experience working on negotiations in an international sporting environment with multi-national brands Exposure and involvement with advertising and promotional activities in Sport Tertiary degree in marketing, sales and/or management discipline About Us At NZR we love what we do, we work hard and have fun!
