Select how often (in days) to receive an alert:As Head Groundsperson, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a top prestigious school, including the gardens, green spaces, and sports grounds. You will be responsible for leading our team on site to deliver the work schedule, whilst being a key point of contact for the Commercial Account Manager and the client representatives.The role will suit someone who is comfortable leading one or two others in all aspects of general garden maintenance and horticulture and someone who has a strength in turf maintenance and sports ground management.You will be supported by the larger Landscape Solutions commercial team for specialist input, additional manpower, material, and maintenance requirements.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the satisfaction of working in a high-profile environment where excellence in service is not only an outcome but a standard that all of us on the team believe in and deliver with pride.Tasks and ResponsibilitiesDay to day task planning in collaboration with the Commercial Account ManagerPreparing enhancement proposals that deliver improvements to the College groundsManaging site safety, productivity and qualityManaging compliance with systems and proceduresDelivering the physical work as part of the teamOverseeing the seasonal tasks completed by specialist teamsFostering a positive team culture that promotes respect, professionalism, and excellenceTraining and developing your teamPreparing for events and holiday programmesReporting to management and clientsManaging machinery and equipment with support from your operations managerAbout YouHave a passion for sports turf and take satisfaction in delivering a high-quality siteHold qualifications in Turf Management and/or HorticulturePrevious experience working to agreed delivery standardsExperience managing a team of people as well as subcontractors or temporary resourcesExperience using software systems or apps to record operational tasksExperience with various types of machinery and equipment – mowers, vehicles, small plantBenefits and PerksTool of the Trade VehicleOngoing Training and SupportA down to earth working environmentAbout VentiaVentia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand.
