Head Chef - Canterbury - Makikihi Country Hotel Job Title: HEAD CHEF We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to join our team at a busy small country hotel situated 20 minutes south of Timaru on State Highway 1.
This is a full-time role, approximately 38-42 hours per week, requiring the successful candidate to manage and train staff, plan menus, and maintain high levels of attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will be confident working independently and have a passion for food with a great work ethic.
They must also be available for face-to-face interviews and ideally be a New Zealand resident.
Key Responsibilities: Food Costing Manage and train staff Menu planning Maintain high levels of attention to detail Cooking Training and development Requirements: Minimum 4 years' experience as a Head Chef Full-time position (approximately 38-42 hours per week) Relocation costs contribution may be available Temporary accommodation available until permanent accommodation is sourced Salary: The estimated salary for this role is $70,000 - $90,000 per year, based on national averages for a Head Chef in New Zealand.
